Requesting Access to mapMECFS
Registration is required to access data on mapMECFS. If you are a new user and do not have an account for mapMECFS, you will first need to log in using one of the Researcher Auth Service (RAS) identities (Login.gov or ID.me) using an institutional email address, after which you will be able to create an account for mapMECFS.
To register for mapMECFS, click Register in the top right corner of the home screen.
Provide the requested information, including a brief description of how you would like to use the system, and agree to the mapMECFS DUA terms. Your registration will be sent to the NIH for review and you will be notified when your account has been approved. The approval process should be quick (typically less than 2 days) and you will be notified of any delays.
Joining an Existing Organization
Joining an existing Organization allows users to view private datasets within that Organization, which are unavailable to users outside of that Organization. Joining an existing Organization may be desirable for users who are members of a research team that use mapMECFS to collaborate and share data.
Once a new user is approved, they are added to the mapMECFS Community Organization. A written email request to the mapMECFS support team is required to join a different existing Organization.
The mapMECFS support team will then obtain approval from the Organization's maintainer. Once approval has been obtained, the user will be added to the Organization and a confirmation email will be sent to the user.
Resetting Your Password
If you have forgotten your password, you will navigate to the appropriate RAS authentication service (login.gov or ID.me) and follow instructions for resetting your password.
You will be prompted to enter your email address. After submitting your email address, a link with a temporary password will be emailed to your email address. When you login using this temporary password, you will be required to create a new password.
